PayPhone’s founder and engineering team are former Google employees who wanted to bring the expertise of Google’s tech and analytics capabilities to the hospitality industry. We’ve always loved the hospitality space and recognized the need for a holistic and cutting-edge approach to venue management and customer experience, especially at a time when
the industry as a whole is struggling with the Covid-19 pandemic.
The name ‘PayPhone’ is our nod to Richard Branson’s ability to redefine a word, like ‘Virgin’. It also reflects our ultimate goal of facilitating payments from phones anywhere at any time. We are proud to be registered as a B Corporation and are committed to having a positive and sustainable impact on our community, customers, and the environment.
It takes a passionate and talented team to revolutionise mobile point of sale technology. Our leaders are all former Google employees and each brings a diverse set of skills and experience to the table.
Sean Montgomery is PayPhone’s lead engineer and a Silicon Valley veteran with more than 17 years of experience. Upon completing his studies in Computer Science and Engineering from The University of Santa Barbara, Sean was determined to have an impact in the tech sector by building useful and much-needed online products.
His first major project was developing GoToMyPC, revolutionary web-based remote access technology which was later acquired by Citrix Online. Sean then joined Google as the technical lead on Google Photos, taking responsibility for revamping the product through distributed server architecture, bleeding-edge website optimizations, and scalability across thousands of servers. He’s a recognized Silicon Valley superstar and we love having him on our team.
